  2. Why can’t Isaiah 53 be the nation of Israel?
    1. Vs 3 – Nations hid from Israel? When?
    2. Vs 7 – Israel didn’t open mouth?
      1. Yes, they did. Ex “Trial of God”
    3. Vs 8 – Cut off out of the land of the living?
      1. Many nations have ceased, but Israel still exists.
    4. Vs 9 – No violence?
      1. King David hotel bombing, wars of Israel…
    5. No deceit in mouth?
      1. Hebrew calendar manipulated so Christ not born at year 4000.

Ps 22 – Prophecy of Crucifixion.

  • Can’t be David. Vs 14, 16, 18.

Dan 9:20-27 – 69 weeks (483 years) started in Neh 2

  • Artaxerxes started his reign in 473 BC.
  • His 20th year would be 453 BC.
  • 453-483=30 AD
  • The Messiah (9:25) had to come around the time of Jesus Christ. (30 AD)
  • Doesn’t allow for the Messiah in 2015 AD or later…

vs 7-10 – Peter: don’t put yoke of law on believers.

vs 19-20 – Nothing like Hebrew Roots doctrine.

vs 24 – No one ever told to go back to Hebrew Roots.

Matt 23:8 – Don’t be called “Rabbi”.

Phil 2:9-11 – The KJB says the English spelling of the Hebrew word ישוע  is “Jesus”.

  • The King James Bible is our final authority.

Ps 83:18 – The KJB says the the English spelling of the Hebrew word יהוה  is “Jehovah”.  

  • Never Yahweh.  That is a pagan deity.

Col 2:10-23 – Sabbaths, Jewish feast days are gone.

Deut 16:16 – HRM doesn’t really celebrate Feasts.  They must be kept in Jerusalem.

I Tim 4:3-6 – No dietary laws in NT.

Galatians:  Whole book devoted to HRM.

1:6,7 – HRM is perverting the Gospel.

1:13,14 – Jewish religion clearly differentiated from NT Christianity.

2:3-5 – Paul wouldn’t circumcise Titus.  Law keepers put us back into bondage.

2:9 – Paul’s teachings endorsed by original apostles.

2:11-16 – Paul right, Peter wrong.  Peter couldn’t live law.  Why make Gentiles try?

2:18 – Jewish religion destroyed.  Why try and rebuild it?  We’re dead to it.

3:1-3 – Can’t start with faith and end with works.

3:10-14 – Can’t really live law.  Especially without temple.  Christ redeemed us from law.

4:9,10 – Jewish religion is weak, beggardly.

I Cor 12:13 – All Christians have Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

I Cor 12:29,30 – Not all speak in tongues

Acts 2:2 – Initial evidence of the Holy Spirit is a rushing wind.

  • They aren’t praying for the Baptism.
  • This is the 12 of 1:16.  Not the 120 of 1:15.  This is for the 12 apostles only.

Acts 2:4-11 – These are known tongues.  Not gibberish.

Mark 16:17,18 – Acts 2 is partial fulfillment of this prophecy.

I Cor 1:22 – Signs are given to Jews.

Ex 4:1-9 – Jews are given signs so they would believe.  This is never promised to the Gentiles.

John 4:43-48 – Jews need to see signs.

II Cor 12:12 – Paul given signs to prove apostleship.  PAST TENSE.

Ps 74:9 – Prophecy that signs would cease.

Acts 1:21-26 – Qualifications for apostleship. (Paul is the exception)

II Cor 11:13-15 – False Apostles.

Rev 2:2 – Lying Apostles.

II Thess 2:9 – Antichrist will have signs.  How are signs proof of God’s blessing?

Acts 2:1-11 – These are unknown to speaker and known to hearers.  Sign to Jews.

Acts 10:45,46 – Same.

Acts 19:1-7 – Same.

I Cor 14:22 – What happened in Acts was a sign to unbelieving Jews.  These are not “unknown”.

I Cor 14 – These are unknown to hearers.  That’s why KJ translators added “unknown”.

Rules for unknown tongues: One at a time – vs 27

2 or 3 at most – vs 27

Interpretation required – vs 28

Don’t lose physical control – vs 32

No women – vs 34

Healing

Matt 8:16,17 – Partial fulfillment during Christ’s earthly ministry.

Phil 3:21 – Fully fulfilled when believer’s get new bodies at Rapture.

Ps 103:1-3 – Promise to Jew at the end of the Tribulation.

James 5:14-16 – Promise to Jews.  No Christians healed 100% by this.  

I Tim 5:23 – Paul no longer healing.  Recommends medicine.

II Tim 4:20 – The gift from the Gospels, Acts is gone.

II Tim 4:11 – Paul kept Luke with him.

Col 4:14 – Luke was a doctor.  

I Cor 12:9 – Luke has gift of healing.  That’s what we call “doctors”.  But none are 100% like in Acts.

Mark 6:5,6 – No faith on part of the sick.  It’s not necessary in real healing.

Luke 5:18-25 – Forgiveness more important than healing.

II Chron 1:10,11 – It is in solomon’s heart.

Ezra 7:10 – Ezra prepared his own heart

Is 55:6 – God commanded people to seek

Acts 10:2 – Trying to do work, so God sent a witness.

John 1:9 – Every man has some light.

Matt 23:37 – Sovereignty of man.

 

Unconditional Election – God picked, before Genesis 1, some men to heaven, some to hell for no reason.

John 9:32 – He was lifted up at Calvary.  This answers John 6:44.

Limited Atonement – The atonement is limited to those whom God already chose before Gen 1.

  • So messed up, many Calvinists abandon it.
  • Pink: to affirm that Christ shed his blood for the sins of all mankind, is to be guilty of charging him with rebellion against the sovereign will of God…

John 1:29 – Sin of the world.

John 4:42 – Saviour of the world.

John 6:51 – for the life of the world.

John 17:9 – World has to mean world. Not just elect

Satan is the God of the world.  The god of the elect?

II Cor 5:14 – Christ died for all.

I Tim 2:4-6 – All men in vs 4 is all men of vs 1.  Not just elect in either place.

I Tim 4:10 – Saviour of all men.

Heb 2:9 – For every man.

I John 2:2 – For the sins of the whole world.

Suddenly, they become dispensational and put this truth on jews only.

I John 4:14 – Saviour of the world.

2 Pet 2:1 – Even redeemed false prophets.

  • Luke 19:10 – Are only elect, Lost?
  • Rom 5:6 – Are only elect ungodly?
  • I Tim 1:15 – Are only elect sinners?
  • I Pet 3:18 – Are only elect, unjust?

 

Irresistible Grace – God send his HS to work in the lives of people so that they will definitely and certainly be changed from evil to good people.  He does this in a sovereign and irresistible way.

  • Why has God made so many americans get saved and so few Japanese, Sudanese, and Albanians?

John 5:40 – They’ve been invited, but they won’t come.

Acts 7:51 – They resist, so did fathers.

II Tim 3:8 – Corrupt mind, reprobate because they resisted the truth.

Prov 29:1 – Sounds like God can be resisted.

Prov 1:24,25 – They refused the call of God

 

Perseverance of the Saints – Often mistaken for Eternal Security.

  • All saints will persevere.  If they don’t, they’ll return.
  • If they don’t return, they were never really saved.
  • Proof is works.
  • “The only evidence of election is effectual calling, that is, the production of holiness.
    • How much holiness is enough?
  • Great example is Lot.  Did he persevere?

I Thess 5:23 – Preserved.

II Tim 4:18 – God will preserve.

Jude 1 – Preserved in Christ.

  • Mandarin oranges.  Good not because they persevered.

Their verses:

Acts 2:37-38 – Answers wrong question.

– Acts 16:30-31 – Correct question. No baptism in answer.

– Luke 5:12-14 – Defines the “for” to mean “because of” not “in order to get”.

– This is early in Acts to the Jews.

– Christians get Holy Ghost in Gal 3:14.

John 3:5 – Defined in vs 6. Water is first birth. Spirit is second birth.

– New birth conditioned on John 1:12.

Mark 16:16 – Belief is condition. “Unbaptism” does not send a man to hell.

I Pet 3:21 – It’s a figure, not the real salvation.

– James 1:21 – Saved by words not water.

Acts 22:16 – He’s already a brother (vs 13) and he’s accepted Christ (vs 7-10)

Seven Baptisms – Matt 3:11

1. I Cor 10:2 – Baptism of Moses.

2. John 1:26 – Baptism of John.

3. Matt 20:22 – Suffering.

4. Acts 2:38 – Jewish after crucifixion.

5. Acts 8:36-38 – Gentiles in church.

6. I Cor 12:13 – Spirit.

7. Rev 20:15 – “Fire” of Matt 3:11.

Baptism is not necessary for salvation.

I Cor 9:22,23 – Paul wanted people to be saved.

I Cor 1:14-17 – But didn’t go out with the intent to baptize. Baptism not in the gospel.

I Cor 15:3,4 – Gospel defined. No baptism.

I Cor 4:15 – Born again through the gospel. Not baptism.

Luke 23:42,43 – Example of salvation without baptism.

Answers To Common Muslim Arguments

Where did Jesus say, “I am God, worship me?”

How can God die?

  1. Flesh of Christ (2 natures – Phil 2) died.
    1. Matt 27, Mark 15, Luke 23, John 19, 1 Cor 15
    2. These are EYEWITNESS accounts.
    3. Committed to writing in their lifetime + No new evidence = PROVEN AS FACT -Acts 1:3
  2. His soul did not die.
    1. It descended. – Matt 12:40
    2. It rejoined with his body and rose from the dead. – Mark 16:6, etc…
    3. He ascended (Body and Soul). – Mark 16:19
    4. No souls die.  They either go to heaven or hell. – Luke 16
  3. Illustration – The Quran.
    1. Quran has 2 natures.
    2. One lasts forever (Q 15:9) and one can be destroyed.
    3. If a contradiction in Christianity, THEN it’s a contradiction in Islam.

The Bible has been corrupted.

  1. Christ claimed they wouldn’t. – Matt 24:35
  2. This uncorrupted Bible is the KING JAMES BIBLE.
    1. All others have been corrupted, starting in Paul’s lifetime. – 2 Cor 2:17

    3. In the same way that a Muslim believes the Arabic Quran is “word for word” the scriptures, the same is true of the King James Bible.
  3. Quran dilemma
    1. Bible is from Allah according to Quran. Q 3:3
    2. The Bible contradicts the Quran on several key points. (Salvation, Deity of Christ, etc.)
    3. Allah’s words can’t be changed. Q 18:27
    4. Either way, Islam is wrong.
      1. If Bible is corrupt, then the teaching of the Quran is INCORRECT.
      2. If Bible is not Corrupt, then the teaching of the Quran is INCORRECT.

Paul invented Christianity.

  1. Proved sincerity by his life. – Phil 3:4-10
  2. Proved sincerity by his death.
  3. Accepted by apostles in Acts 15 and 2 Pet 3:15,16.
    1. Q3:55 – Allah wouldn’t let Christ’s disciples endorse a false prophet.
  4. Followed Christ but had different ministry.
    1. Christ went to Jews primarily. – Matt 15:24
    2. Paul went to the Gentiles primarily. – Rom 11:15, 15:16
